Current Prayers
This page is dedicated to the sharing of our current needs with those who have committed to pray for us. We hope that, in your own way and time, as you seek God, you might intercede for us as well. The needs listed below will be updated as frequently as there is need, though you may also find, as new needs arise, that recent blog posts are dedicated to certain things as well.

1. Internet – UPDATED … Blessings, first! During our trip to the States in April, a very generous, faithful supporter wrote us a check so that we might afford the expensive Internet hook-up that seemed to be our only option for a connection at home. We are so very thankful for that. However, we still need prayer. The folks responsible for setting up this complicated connection are dragging their feet, big time! At first, they were not even returning calls, and even after we told them we had the money to pay, they have not moved on the opportunity to establish a new client. Unfortunately, there are no competitors to go through, so we have to be patient. However, school is ending in a few days, and that means it will be very inconvenient for us to obtain Internet access if we cannot get a home connection established. Please pray that these people in charge of our Internet option will be urged, even divinely if necessary, to get to work.
2. Bonnie - Please pray for traveling mercies for Bonnie, Leigh’s twin, who will be flying in for a visit in less than a month! Leigh is extremely excited, as is Bo, of course, and this will be a wonderful way to decompress from what was indeed a very stressful school year. We have secured fairly inexpensive tickets for Bonnie which allows her to fly in to the EuroAirport (the airport just outside of Basel for the Dreilander region in which we are located), which is a good thing (no weird, foreign airports we are not familiar with).
3. Home Life - Please continue to pray for our marriage and our life in general. Both of us are excited about the prospect of two whole months without the stress of school. We have a couple of inexpensive, but still very exciting, vacations planned – one to northern Italy and another possible excursion to London. However, it will obviously be an adjustment having all this extra time on our hands. Pray we will make good use of it and draw even closer together as a married couple. Also, please pray that the we become good stewards of all this extra time. We are both are trying to exercise more these days, and have taken up a bit more hiking in the beautiful German surroundings. Bo will be using a large portion of his extra time this summer finishing a novel manuscript that he is more and more excited about with each passing day. Pray for us, in all these endeavors.
4. A Church Home - Thank you for your prayers for us to find a church home as well as good, strong friendships. We have very much enjoyed the last few months, getting to know more people, and attending the morning services at the Anglican Church of Basel. We hope to become more involved in the weekly life group that meets in Lorrach this summer, but it is obviously going to take a commitment. Pray we would continue to do what it takes to live outside the “BFA bubble.”
5. BFA Praises - Bo had a blast assisting the girls soccer teams this year. It was a much-needed, much-appreciated outlet for him, and he already looks forward to next year, but how could he not when the Varsity girls will be the defending European DODDS league champions! Praise also for your prayers as Leigh successfully completed her year of teaching health and P.E. It was certainly not her cup of tea, but she finished strong. She has already begun her responsibilities as School Nurse for next year! And a final praise for all the BFA Seniors who are only a few days away from graduation. We will sincerely miss them. Pray for their transition to college life, especially those moving to countries, including the U.S., that they have never lived in before. Pray for endurance and perseverance for what will be a hard summer followed by a difficult year of new experiences and many changes.
The Lord is honored, and we are truly blessed, by all of your prayers, big and small, long and short.
~ Bo and Leigh

We will definitely be praying for you. We know how hard the “little things” can be. And they are amplified when you’re overseas. I could recount many stories of cross-cultural frustration. We will especially be praying about the internet. It’s such a lifeline. May God surprise you in how he blesses you; he always seems to work in unexpected ways.
